"Depth of field refers to the range of distance that appears acceptably sharp"
http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/depth-of-field.htm Is a really good help sight for understanding Depth of field it has good photos and information set out clearly.
This photo is of bad quality as it is from http://www.perou.co.uk/ which does not allow you to copy/save Perou's photos.
This photo has a very short depth of field as it is took in a studio against a white wall. The shot is in focus, even the background which makes it clear. Justin Bieber is the focus of this fashion shoot.
I had the same problem with this photo, but I like it as the depth of field isnt as big as it looks in the photo. The use of different textures and shadows in the background makes it a more interesting photo. The whole photo is in focus, but the model is the focus of the photo, my eye is drawn to her. You cant see it very well but there is an Adidas logo on the models outfit, so this is a fashion shoot.
Depth of field from maxaha
Depth of Field from sbonekam
I found both of these slideshows useful, the first one is quite basic and gives simple definitions. The second one is of more detail and talks about how it affects the photo, it also talks about aperture. I found the second one helped me understand Depth Of Field better than the first one.
